It’s Time to Surrender to YAHUAH and His Word

YAHUAH gives us multiple opportunities to come to Him, but ultimately it is up to us to want nothing more than to walk with Aluahim. He tells us,

Jeremiah 29:13: You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.

Many people are deceived into thinking that they don’t need to do anything for Aluahim to be in their lives. They are told that Mashiach died for them, so they can now be a part of the world and do as they please. They are not taught how to properly surrender to Aluahim.

The Dictionary defines surrender as: abandon oneself entirely to. Surrendering to Aluahim is the opposite of what most professed followers of Mashiach are practicing today. Instead of abandoning oneself, they are building themselves up. Yahushua tells us, “If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me” (Matthew 16:24). They are walking around telling themselves that “J.C. loves me”, when instead, they should be asking themselves, “how do I show J.C. that I love Him?” Says Yahushua, “If you love Mekeep My commandments” (John 14:15).

I am going to put it plainly. We cannot be a part of the world, and expect Aluahim to love us. John tells us to, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (1 John 2:15). And Yahushua takes it a step further when He says, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36). Most professed followers of Mashiach (self-proclaimed Christians) are fooled into thinking that they can be part of the world as long as they are considered a “good person” (according to worldly standards), then they will surely make it to heaven. But Aluahim’s Word clearly tells us who will make it to heaven. John writes,

Revelation 22:14: Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the Tree of Life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Most people are living a life of personal fulfillment, all while not truly surrendering to Aluahim. They are living in sin, thinking that all they need is to believe in Jesus Christ (whom technically is a different deity). But the question is, how do we surrender to Aluahim? To answer this question we need to know what faith is, because we can only truly surrender ourselves if we have faith in that in which we are submitting ourselves to. See, we are told that faith is not based on empirical proof, and this makes surrendering nearly impossible. And it undoubtedly brings confusion to what faith truly is. The Bible says,

Romans 10:17: So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of Aluahim.

This means that faith comes from studying the Word of Aluahim. We are also told that faith cannot be measured, but the Bible says,

James 2:18: Yes, a man may say, You have faith, and I have works: show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

Faith comes first by hearing the gospel – the Law and the Testimony of Mashiach (or the Torah and the Prophets), and choosing to accept it as Truth. This can happen in numerous different ways. Such as: one can be preached to, one can have a vision or dream from Aluahim, one can be given signs from Aluahim, or one can simply pick up the Bible and start reading. The Apostle tells us, “He that has received His Testimony has set to his seal that Aluahim is True” (John 3:33). We can be given any one of these signs, yet it is of no use if we do not accept the Truth being revealed to us and we choose not to surrender to Aluahim, His Word, and His Torah (Law). The beautiful thing about our Creator, is that He will accept anyone who chooses to turn away from their life of sin to do His will.

Many professed followers of Mashiach (self-proclaimed Christians) doubt the Word of Aluahim, and this is due to the clever work of Satan. These people are constantly asking Aluahim to give evidence to back up His Word, and when He does, through various means, they continue to ignore the Truth out of inconvenience. The Truth is not always convenient, and often-times goes against popular belief. Most people will twist Aluahim’s Word in order to match their worldly knowledge, but “It is better to trust in Aluahim than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in Aluahim than to put confidence in princes” (Psalm 118:8-9).

When we choose to accept the gospel (the Law and the Prophets), and acknowledge Aluahim’s Word as infallible, then we can begin to surrender to Him. A wonderful miracle happens once we choose to “Trust in YAHUAH with all your heart; and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). Once we accept the Truth written in Aluahim’s Word, then we will no longer demand evidence, but can begin to live by faith. This is when conversion commences.

True conversion happens when we are brought into harmony with Aluahim and His Law. His Law convicts us of our sins (refer to Romans 3:20, 7:7), and then brings us to our knees for repentance. True repentance requires tears while pleading with Aluahim, “For sorrow for Aluahim works repentance to salvation” (2 Cor. 7:10). We come to the realization that His Law is necessary for our salvation, and that we are poverty stricken without the atoning blood of Mashiach. Repentance is a major step towards surrendering to Aluahim. The prophet Joel shares with us an example of true repentance.

Joel 2:12-13: Therefore also now, says YAHUAH, turn you even to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto YAHUAH your Aluahim: for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repented him of the evil.

Only after repentance, can the healing power of Aluahim begin its work. We then become grateful that YAHUAH opened our eyes to the Truth, “For this cause also thank we Aluahim without ceasing, because, when you received the Word of Aluahim which you heard of us, you received it not as the word of men, but as it is in Truth, the word of Aluahim, which effectually works also in you that believe” (1 Thessalonians 2:13).

As we continue to study and prove all things written in Aluahim’s Word, then our faith strengthens. As we grow, we are endlessly shown YAHUAH’S mercy and will want nothing more than to fulfill His will, because without Him we are just dust from the ground. The more we let go of worldly teachings and selfish desires, the more we can grow in Spirit and in Truth. We begin to see Aluahim’s infinite mercy, love, and grace, and feel unworthy and ashamed of our past lives. This feeling of humility is another step towards surrendering to Aluahim. James shares with us,

James 4:10: Humble yourselves in the sight of YAHUAH, and He shall lift you up.

At this point, surrendering to Aluahim is no longer a chore, but a pleasure. Each time we are brought to our knees out of humility, He grants us more wisdom of those things that are not seen. The love between man and Aluahim is that like the relationship of a loving father and an obedient son. As children of Aluahim, it is our duty to do all that our heavenly Father asks of us. This includes keeping His Torah (Law); His ten commandments, appointed times, and ordinances.

The Apostle writes,

Titus 2:11-14: For the grace of Aluahim that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying Aluahim and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and in Aluahim, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great Aluahim and our Savior Yahushua HaMashiach; who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

We will of course continue to fall short, but as we make a daily effort to submit ourselves to Aluahim, and resist worldly desires, then we will be blanketed with Aluahim’s righteousness. Before we strived to get to know YAHUAH, we chased after worldly desires. But, To YAHUAH our Aluahim belong mercies and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him; neither have we obeyed the voice of YAHUAH our Aluahim, to walk in His Law, which He set before us by His servants the Prophets” (Daniel 9:9-10). Now that we live for Aluahim and not ourselves, “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in the lusts thereof” (Romans 6:12). And, “Likewise reckon you also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto Aluahim through Yahushua HaMashiach our Master.” (Romans 6:11). The Psalmist writes,

Psalm 119:1-2: Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the Law (Torah) of YAHUAH. Blessed are they that keep His Testimonies, and that seek Him with the whole heart.

Surrender comes after true repentance, and a desire to live for YAHUAH and His Kingdom. Surrender means humbling ourselves in the sight of Aluahim. Surrender means studying Aluahim’s Word, line upon line, precept upon precept. Surrender means showing faith in every Word that proceeds from the mouth of Aluahim. Surrender means to be obedient, and keep Aluahim’s Law (Torah). Surrendering is something that is done every single day. Surrendering to Aluahim means sacrificing our personal desires to fulfill the will of Aluahim. Surrender is the ultimate declaration of love for YAHUAH, our Heavenly Father.
