Should Followers of The Messiah Keep the whole Law (Torah)?

Are we under what people call “the Old Testament Law”? What is considered to be the Law of Aluahim? Has any part of the Law (Torah in Hebrew) been done away with? What was actually nailed to the cross? Does keeping the whole Torah deny Messiah? These are all important questions as followers of the Mashiach to ask and to know.

Every form of government has a king, subjects (the people), and a set of laws. This is an easy idea to grasp here on earth, but for some reason people think this kind of administration does not exist in Aluahim’s Kingdom. This is because Satan and his angels have done an extremely good job at making the human race completely reject Aluahim’s Torah (Law) which consists of: His appointed times (Leviticus 23), His precepts and ordinances (Leviticus and Deuteronomy), and His ten commandments (Exodus 20).

Satan has ingrained one of his oldest and most favorite lie in the minds of each person, by whispering in their ear, “You shall not surely die”. The human race has forgotten that the consequences of breaking Aluahim’s Law (Torah) is death, for “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23), and “sin is the transgression of the Law” (1 John 3:4)

The Law and the Prophets

The Adversary’s number one objective is and has always been the same. To get the human race to break YAHUAH’S Law (Torah), just like he got a third of the angels to break it. Yes, YAHUAH’S Law pertains to all the hosts of both earth and heaven. The Psalmist writes,

Psalm 103:20: Bless YAHUAH, you His angels, that excel in strength, that do His commandments; hearkening unto the voice of His Word.

The above verse plainly tells us that YAHUAH’S commandments are expected to be kept by the heavenly host. It also tells us that YAHUAH’S Word is His commandments. All of Christendom is programmed not to study the Scriptures for themselves, but rather rely on man to teach them. They have been taught to separate what we call the Old and New Testament, and that much of the Old Testament (Tanakh) has been done away with by the one they call Christ. They have been indoctrinated into thinking that YAHUAH’S Law has been done away with, and so they miss the clear text that tells us to search the Scriptures, and that what we incorrectly call the Old Testament is the Word in which we should study daily. So where in the Bible does it plainly say that the Scriptures are the Word of Aluahim?

First, let me point out that every Prophet in the Tanakh (Old Testament Scriptures) writes, thus said Aluahim, or hear the Word of Aluahim, or the Word of Aluahim came unto me, saying, and so on. This should be evidence enough that the writings of the Prophets are the words that Aluahim gave them to record.

The next absurd remark I’ve heard people say is, “throw out the Old Testament Scriptures, and only focus on the New Testament Scriptures”, or they have even gone as far as to say, “only read what Christ said (the red letters only)”. This is due to the pagan religion of Christianity. The pagan religion of Christianity is made up of New Testament (Brit Chadashah) philosophies (made from out of context verses) along with Platonism, Greek mythology, and pagan traditions. Therefore, Aluahim’s pure unadulterated Word (the Law and the Prophets) is completely made void. Christianity is Satan’s counterfeit church to the True religion of our Creator, and anyone who attaches themselves to the name “Christian” is ignorantly associating themselves with Babylon the Great.

The Word in the flesh commands us to,

John 5:39: Search the Scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Keep in mind, He said the Scriptures testify of him. This means that the Scriptures are the Testimony of Yahushua HaMashiach, and we are told in John’s revelation that the remnant of Mashiach’s church,

Revelation 12:17: …Keep the Commandments of Aluahim, and have the Testimony of Yahushua HaMashiach.

This implies that a true follower of Mashiach will study the Scriptures daily, and will pray to understand the prophecies written in the Bible which all pertain to the Son of Aluahim. The messenger (or angel) goes on to tell John that,

Revelation 19:10: …for the Testimony of Yahushua is the spirit of prophecy.

Yahushua tells us exactly what writings comprise of the Holy Scriptures. We read,

Luke 24:44-45: And He said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things much be fulfilled, which were written in the Law of Moses, and in the Prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning Me. Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures.

The Law of Moses, is the first five books of the Bible – Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. The Prophets – make-up the rest of what we wrongfully call “the Old Testament Scriptures” (excluding the Psalms), in which most of these books are named after the Prophet whom wrote it. The Psalms – include all the Psalms (150 in total), and along with the Song of Solomon. These make up the Scriptures. To put it in simple mathematics,

Law + Prophets + Psalms = Holy Scriptures (or Word of Aluahim). This can also be called the Ta.Na.Kh. (Tanakh) which is an acronym for the Torah (Law), Nebi’im (Prophets), and Ketuwim (Writings).

Yahushua is simply telling us, that what we wrongfully call the Old Testament books are the Scriptures we are to study avidly, and pray for the Ruach HaQodash (Holy Spirit) to give us understanding in them. They are the standard, in which all other spiritual writings should be compared to. This means that what we call the New Testament Scriptures (Brit Chadashah), should and will align with the Tanakh (Old Testament books). The events both leading up to the return of Mashiach, and after the thousand-year reign are not only foretold by John in the book of Revelation but also by the Prophets in the Tanakh (Old Testament Scriptures). Everything said by Yahushua and everything written by the Apostles are not new concepts, but rather confirmations to the original Word of Aluahim – the Law and the Prophets. The Apostle writes,

Acts 24:14: But this I confess unto you, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the Aluahim of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets

I must first point out, that this passage is telling us that the Law and the Prophets were and still are considered heresy. This is why the Christian church (a heretical church) teaches that the Law (Torah) was done away with, and why both the Babylonian Talmud and Quran replaced the Torah. And the Masoretic Scribes (heretical Jews) both changed the lunar Sabbath to the seventh-day of the Roman calendar (Saturn’s day), and changed the full new moon to the dark crescent new moon. This ensured that the Law (Torah) was not kept by all seekers of the Truth. This is why we are told,

Jeremiah 29:13: And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Now, concerning the books written by the Apostles of Mashiach. What we wrongfully call “the New Testament” books – Gospels, Epistles, Letters, and Revelations, are simply the explainer of the Tanakh (Old Testament books) – the Torah and the Prophets. The more you read the Scriptures, the more parallels you will find between the writers of both the Brit Chadashah and Tanakh (New and Old Testament books). Not to mention, The Word of Aluahim in the flesh is highly recorded throughout the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. For those who question the canonization of the Bible, the 66 ornaments on the candle stick symbolize the 66 books that were canonized as Holy Writ. Hence David writing,

Psalm 119:105: Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

This simply means that every single book in both the Tanakh and Brit Chadashah (wrongfully called the Old and New Testament) were supposed to be a part of the Bible. It doesn’t matter who put it together, for Aluahim can use any person to fulfill His work. The entire Bible is the Word of Aluahim, recorded by His Prophets and Apostles as a Testimony of the One and only Yahushua HaMashiach.

The Prophet Isaiah records something similar to what Yahushua said. He writes,

Isaiah 8:20: To the Law and to the Testimony: if they speak not according to this Word, it is because there is no light in them.

The Law or Torah, is the first five books of the Bible – Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. The Testimony –  are the Prophets or the rest of what we call the “Old Testament” books. Isaiah describes these writings as this Word. Who’s word? None other than Aluahim’s Word! The Apostle writes,

Acts 3:21: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which Aluahim has spoken by the mouth of all His holy Prophets since the world began.

Hebrew 1:1: Aluahim, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past unto the fathers by the Prophets.

Concerning the Scriptures – the Law and the Prophets, Yahushua plainly tells us,

Think not that I am come to destroy the Law (Nomos), or the Prophets; I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, until heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the Law (Nomos), till all be fulfilled.Matthew 5:17-18

Satan will try to get us to break YAHUAH’S Law (Torah in Hebrew and Nomos in Greek) which consists of: His ten commandments, ordinances, and appointed times, by any means necessary and especially through “transforming himself into an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14). He has infiltrated and also corrupted both the education and political systems along with every major religious organization. In addition, he has controlled the minds of billions through mainstream media into making them further believe the lies that distance themselves from the living Aluahim. The sciences and histories taught in schools today purposely aim to discredit Biblical Truth. The goal of modern education is to disprove and make irrelevant the teachings of the Bible. Says the Reformer,

“Every institution where the Word of God [Aluahim] is not diligently studied, must become corrupt.”

– Martin Luther

Aluahim has tried over and over again to warn us of such conspiracies. “Take heed”  Yahushua says, “that no man deceive you” (Matthew 24:4). And YAHUAH tells us that,

Hosea 4:6: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you will be no priest to Me: seeing you have forgotten the Law (Torah) of your Aluahim, I will also forget your children.

The above verse tells us that true knowledge and keeping the Law (Torah) of Aluahim go hand-in-hand. Unfortunately, the majority of people today place the teachings of man (worldly knowledge) above the teachings of the Bible (true knowledge). They have become so indoctrinated that they cannot even read the Bible with a clear and open mind. For many, Christianity has left such a bad taste in their mouth that they don’t even want to open up the Bible for themselves. And when they do read the Scriptures they relate everything they read to what they have learned in the world or from the pulpit, rather than believing exactly what is written by Aluahim through the Prophets. They do not know enough about factual history and science, parallel verses, chiasmus, and parables in order to both read the Bible correctly nor obtain its true knowledge. They toss out the Tanakh (Old Testament Scriptures) including the ten commandments, appointed times, and ordinances, and try to prove that the Brit Chadashah (New Testament Scriptures) is entirely different, not realizing that the Brit Chadashah (New Testament) simply explains and or fulfills the prophecies in the Tanakh (Old Testament).

Most people do not realize that the original disciples preached the Gospel using the Tanakh; the Torah, Prophets, and Writings (wrongfully called the Old Testament Scriptures), and this is why many passages from the Tanakh (Old Testament) are recited in the Brit Chadashah; Renewed Covenant (wrongfully called the New Testament books). If one part of the Holy Scriptures is disregarded, then the whole Bible should be disregarded. Either we accept the whole Word of Aluahim or reject all of it (referring to both the Tanakh and the Brit Chadashah).

Most people do not realize that by discarding any Scripture written in the Bible, they are rejecting the Ruach HaQodash (Holy Spirit). The most commonly disregarded accounts in Scripture pertain to both Aluahim’s creation (His 6,000 year-old flat earth and His astro-lunar-solar calendar), and His Law (Torah): ten commandments, appointed times, and ordinances.

In the next two sub-chapters we will break down the true meaning of the word Brit Chadashah all while defining what sin is, what the Law (Torah) of Aluahim consists of, and what was actually nailed to the cross.

The Law Explained

Aluahim’s commandments in which He wrote with His finger on stone existed before Mount Sinai, and is still relevant today. We will shortly see that most of the precepts and instructions mentioned throughout the Torah (first five books of the Bible) merely just expound upon the ten commandments. Without YAHUAH’S Torah (Law) there is no such thing as sin, and therefore no reason to have sacrificed His Son. The clearest description in the Bible of what sin is, is written by John,

1 John 3:4: Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the Law (Nomos): for sin is the transgression of the Law (anomia).

Even the Merriam-Webster dictionary defines sin as: transgression of the Law of God [Aluahim]. It is so clear, yet most professed followers of Yahushua believe that His Law (Torah) is no longer valid or that it was nailed to the cross. Later we will discuss what was actually nailed to the cross but for now, let’s take a deeper look at the Law.

The Greek word used for Law by John (in 1 John 3:4) comes from the root word nomos. This is Strong’s Concordance number 3551 nomos (nom’-os): custom, Law; in NT: of law in general, plur: of divine laws; of a force or influence impelling to action; of the Mosaic law; meton: of the books which contain the Law, the Pentateuch, the Old Testament Scriptures in general [Tanakh].

The definition of the Greek word Nomos points us to the Tanakh (Old Testament Scriptures). The Hebrew word for Law is Torah. This is Strong’s Concordance number 8451, Torah (to-raw): direction, instruction, law.

I want to be completely clear of what YAHUAH’S Torah (Law) consists of. The Law or in Hebrew the Torah is all of YAHUAH’S instructions written down in the first five books of the Bible. This includes:

  • His Ten Commandments mentioned in Exodus 20, but also explained in detail throughout the whole Torah. For example, in Exodus 21-23 YAHUAH gives us examples of how to keep the ten commandments.
  • His Appointed Times mentioned in Leviticus 23, but also mentioned multiple times throughout the entire Torah. These appointed times are an extension of the fourth commandment, which is mentioned multiple times throughout the Torah. In Exodus 23:10-19, YAHUAH further explains these appointed times while attaching them to the fourth commandment. Take special note that the seventh-day Sabbath is also the first appointed time mentioned in Leviticus 23. The fourth commandment being also the first appointed time, points to all the Sabbaths, and high days or appointed times of rest and worship.
  • His Ordinances. This includes modesty – the way we are to dress and keep our hair, diet, cleanliness, and sex and marriage, and more. His precepts are found throughout the entire Torah. For example, Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14 give us the list of unclean foods.
  • The Sacrificial System. The earthly sacrificial system began with Adam (refer to Genesis 3:21) and ended with Yahushua HaMashiach (refer to Hebrews 10:12). The sacrifice of the Mashiach covered our earthly sins while preparing the heavenly sanctuary for the time we will reign as priests and kings with Aluahim. We will not be able to enter into New Yarushalam (Jerusalem) without the atoning blood of Mashiach. Sacrifice is part of the Torah. Every sin requires a sacrifice!
  • Communion. Communion is not mentioned in the Torah, but later commanded for us to regularly keep by the Mashiach.

Many people think that the Law of Moses is different that the Torah or “Law of YAHUAH”. This is incorrect. The Torah or Law of YAHUAH is sometimes called the Torah or Law of Moses because Moses was the scribe or Prophet who wrote down the Torah according to the Word of YAHUAH (who is Yahushua). Yahushua plainly commanded the man he healed from leprosy to keep the Law of Moses. We read,

Luke 5:14: And he (Yahushua) charged him to tell no one, But go and show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your cleansing, as a testimony to them, just as Moses commanded.

If the Law of Moses was different than the Law of YAHUAH or if Yahushua came to supposedly abolish the Law (Torah), then He would have not commanded the man to do what was written in the Law of Moses. YAHUAH clearly tells us to,

Malachi 4:4: Remember the Law of Moses, My servant, which I commanded him in Horeb for all Yasharal, with the statutes and judgments.

Some people may use John 7:21-23 to say that the Law of Moses is different that the Law of YAHUAH, but this would be a wrong interpretation of that Scripture. The Scripture reads as follows,

John: 7:21-23: Yahushua answered and said to them, I did one work, and you all marvel. Moses therefore gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath. If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the Law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?

Yahushua is simply rebuking the religious leaders for being hypocrites. The religious leaders were trying to find any reason to accuse Yahushua for supposedly breaking the Torah, so they accused Him for breaking the Sabbath by doing supposed work (healing a man) on the Sabbath – a rest and worship day. These same men who accuse the Mashiach for doing supposed work (healing) on the Sabbath would circumcise a man on the Sabbath. This also would require some form of work. Neither healing nor circumcising a man on the Sabbath would be wrong, because the work that we are to rest from is our labor which brings us money (buying and selling). Yahushua was pointing out that what He was doing by healing a man is what the Sabbath was created for. This goes along with the writings of the Prophet Isaiah in Isaiah chapter 58.

Now when it comes to the Law of YAHUAH written down by the Prophet Moses, people will say that there are over 600 Hebrew commands in the Torah, but that is simply not true. Most of the 600 plus precepts and ordinances can be condensed into the ten commandments. The majority of the precepts, for instance, the instructions concerning lending money, simply expounds upon the eighth, ninth, and tenth commandment. Another example, is the precepts concerning homosexuality, taking a women’s virginity, and laying with your neighbors wife which expound upon the seventh, and tenth commandment.

The teachings of Yahushua were in exact alignment with the Torah. He took all 600 plus precepts which are essentially the ten commandments explained, and condensed them into two commandments –to “Love YAHUAH with all your heart, soul, and mind” and to “Love your neighbor as yourself”, and along with the latter, He told us to “love your enemies”.

I will give an example of how a precept or ordinance in the Torah falls under one of these two commandments – the ten commandments condensed. If you are a loving person then you will return a man’s lost dog to him instead of letting it run on the highway to eventually become injured (refer to Exodus 23:4-5). This is fulfilling the commandment of loving both your neighbor and your enemy, and fulfills the sixth and ninth commandment (refer to 1 John 3:15, 4:20).

Of course, not all of the precepts and ordinances pertain to us today, but the concepts are the same. Because we are all Gentiles living in Gentile nations, not all of the commands can be kept. For example, the command to marry your sister in-law if your brother died. The reason for this commandment was to keep the true religion of YAHUAH within the family. It also kept women from being widows and children from being orphans. The concept of this command is still supposed to be adhered to, for the Apostles tell us not to marry outside of the faith (refer to 2 Corinthians 6:14) and also to take care of the widows and fatherless (refer to James 1:27). So if a sister in Mashiach becomes a widow, then it is our duty as brethren to care for her and her children. We are her family now, and it is quite possible that her blood family has forsaken her or she has separated herself from them due to putting Aluahim first in her life (refer to Matthew 10:35-37). It is now our duty to help her create an environment to where her children can keep the Law of YAHUAH (refer to Deuteronomy 11:19-21, Matthew 18:6).

Now for the cleansing instructions. Yes, all of the cleansing instructions listed in the Torah are still supposed to be upheld. Even though there is not a physical temple made of stone for us to worship in, we are still expected to worship YAHUAH in our fleshly tabernacle (refer to 1 Corinthians 3:16-17). And the appointed worship days have not changed. We are told to worship on the New Moon, seventh-day Sabbath, and on the High Sabbaths – High Days attached to the appointed times (refer to Amos 8:5 and Leviticus 23). Therefore, we must appear before YAHUAH and worship in prayer, song, and reading of Scripture while being clean. This means we should bathe and put fresh clothes on prior to giving worship and praise to YAHUAH, if we have previously done something that made us ceremonially unclean.

It is important to know what makes us unclean so that we stay away from those things until after we have given worship to YAHUAH on His appointed times. For example, copulation will make both the man and woman unclean until the evening. One will need to bathe in water then wait until evening to be clean again. Therefore, if we desire to worship on that day then we should do so before we have sexual intercourse. This basically shows Aluahim that we put Him before our physical needs or desires. Other examples include: coming in contact with the carcass of an unclean animal in which also makes one unclean until evening, or coming in contact with a dead person in which makes one unclean for seven days. There should be no debate with deeply cleansing oneself after touching a dead body and taking the full seven days for mourning. If we practice uncleanliness (not abiding by these precepts), then we will not be accepted by YAHUAH. Paul’s teachings align perfectly with these instructions. He reminds us to,

2 Corinthians 6:17: Come out from among them, and be you separate, says YAHUAH, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

Romans 12:1: Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of Aluahim, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice [clean and without sin], acceptable to Aluahim, which is your spiritual service of worship.

I’ve heard people say that all of these so-called “rules” are just ridiculous, but most of us already practice these things. Being clean is simply a daily routine that keeps us from spreading germs and diseases. The practice of loving your neighbor and your enemy is even taught by non-religious people. And having set times of worship is practiced in all religions.

YAHUAH’S Law has and will always be. The children of Yasharal (Israel) were chosen to preserve the Law in writing so that we would never forget it while enslaved by Gentile (pagan) nations, but the Law (Torah) existed before it was written down by Moses. For example:

  • Abraham gave tithes, specifically a tenth of his spoils to Melchizedek the high priest in his day (refer to Genesis 14:20, Hebrews 7:2).
  • The sacrificial system was practiced by Adam and Eve (refer to Genesis 3:21), Abel (refer to Genesis 4:4), Noah (refer to Genesis 8:20), Melchizedek – who was a king and high priest (refer to Genesis 14:18), Abraham (refer to Genesis 22:13), Job (refer to Job 1:5), and Jethro – Midian priest, and Moses’ father in-law (refer to Exodus 2:16).
  • The Patriarchs were told to dwell in tents, thus fulfilling the moed (appointed time) of Sukkot – Feast of Tabernacles (refer to Hebrews 11:9).

The Patriarchs walked with YAHUAH, so they knew His Law (Torah) whereas the children of Yasharal became distant from YAHUAH and forgot His Law while in Egyptian captivity. It is true that some aspects of the Law were either changed or added throughout time. For example; meat was introduced after the flood, the appointed time (moed) of Passover was introduced after Egyptian bondage, and Communion was added the evening before Yahushua HaMashiach’S death.

YAHUAH’S Law is the infrastructure to His Kingdom. Anyone who desires to live for Aluahim’s Kingdom whether in heaven or on earth are subject to His commandments. The reason why the Adversary was kicked out of heaven in the first place was because in one way or another he broke one, or many of the ten commandments. Ezekiel writes,

Ezekiel 28:15: You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, until iniquity (sin) was found in you

In order for the Adversary to have sinned, by definition, he would have had to break one or more of YAHUAH’S ten commandments (refer to 1 John 3:4). The Adversary then deceived a third of the angels into breaking YAHUAH’S commandments as well. Today, it is the work of both the Adversary and his fallen angels together that have deceived most of the world into transgressing YAHUAH’S Torah (Law): His appointed times, precepts, and ten commandments. Sin has run rampant just like the days of Noah, and in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. There are now man-made civil laws to protect those who want to live a life of sin, and the Bible is deemed offensive, and in some places in the earth it is completely illegal. The time in which we are living was prophesied long ago. The Prophet writes,

Isaiah 24:5: The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the Torah (Law), violated the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

YAHUAH’S Word is currently under much attack as it always has been. His Torah (Law) has been forgotten and changed, the original precepts He gave man has been flipped upside down, His original diet plan has been disregarded, His definition of marriage has been neglected, His instructions on modesty has been thrown out the window, and His account of creation is called fictional or “conspiracy”. This means,

Psalms 119:126: It is time for You, YAHUAH, to work: for they have made void Your Law (Torah).

YAHUAH’S Torah (Law); His appointed times, precepts, and His ten commandments, are a covenant that sets aside His people from the rest of the world. If we claim that Yahushua is both the son of YAHUAH and the king and Yasharal, then we obey his Law (Torah). “If you love Me, keep My commandments” says Yahushua (John 14:15). It is that simple!

Christians who believe that the Torah was done away with, love to pose the question, “Is there anything that you can do to save yourself?” This is a very dangerous trap that can lead a devout follower of Mashiach into questioning the keeping of the Law (Torah). The first Scripture I would use to answer this question is found multiple times in the book of Revelation when Yahushua is telling John what to write to the seven churches. He tells us, “To him that overcomes…” (Revelation 3:21). The Greek word used for overcomes is Strong’s Concordance number 3528 nikao which derives from the root word nike: to conquer, victorious, prevail, subdue, overcome. Yahushua is clearing telling us that there is something that we can do to gain salvation because becoming victorious requires self-assertiveness. It is up to us to become victorious and therefore the answer to their question is, “yes”.

It is a combination of accepting Yahushua as our Mashiach and keeping (doing/action) His commandments. There are many examples of people doing something (action) to ensure that their names were not blotted out from the Book of Life. If there is nothing we can do but just simply say we believe in “Christ” then what about king Solomon who started off righteous then lived a life of sin (transgressing the Torah) and then turned back to YAHUAH to become righteous again? The turning back to keeping YAHUAH’S Torah demands action from the one performing it. King Saul was given the same opportunity as everyone else, but he didn’t ask for forgiveness (sacrifice the blood of the Lamb) for his sins (transgression of the Torah) and turn back to YAHUAH by keeping (action) YAHUAH’S commandments. Saul died in his sins instead of doing what king David would have done and fasted (action), prayed (action), asked for forgiveness (action), and turned back to YAHUAH by keeping (action) His Law. Saul was given 24 hours after seeing the Medium to turn back to YAHAUAH, but he didn’t take that time. The man on the cross next to Yahushua had much less time than Saul, yet turned back to YAHUAH.

Gaining salvation requires both faith and action. We are required to simply show our faith by our actions. YAHUAH, through the Prophet Ezekiel says,

Ezekiel 14:14: Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, says YAHUAH Aluahim.

Notice how YAHUAH says that the three men mentioned above “delivered their own souls”. And then goes on to tell us how they delivered themselves, “by their righteousness”. We become righteous not through vain words, but by action – keeping the Law of Aluahim. YAHUAH further tells us,

Ezekiel 33:11: As I live says YAHUAH, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, of house of Yasharal?

YAHUAH is plainly telling us that it is up to us to either choose (action) to be wicked by not keeping His Torah or to be righteous by striving to keep His Torah. This is why YAHUAH poses the rhetorical question, asking those who know His Law yet choose not to keep it. YAHUAH Aluahim is merciful and loving. Therefore, anyone who turns away from transgressing His Torah will be forgiven and granted life.

Of course, nothing can be done without YAHUAH and faith in His son (refer to John 15:5). We will later discuss the word faith or belief and how to show faith or belief, but as nature shows us, showing love or faith in anyone or thing requires action and not just vain words or so-called “inner feelings” (i.e. spirituality). For example, you cannot just say you love your spouse, but you must show that you love them by what you do. You can say you believe in the Mashiach all day long, but what you do shows Him if you love Him or not. You cannot be covered in the blood of the Lamb if you do not strive to keep the Torah (Law). No Law equals no sacrifice. The sacrificial system is part of the Torah. Every sin (transgression of the Torah) requires a sacrifice. Therefore, if we continue to practice sin day after day until we die (which is the definition of blasphemy against the Ruach HaQodash), then we will need a continual sacrifice to enter into New Yarushalam, but the continual sacrifice was done away with at the cross and the one-time sacrifice of Mashiach was given to us. This is why Paul tells us,

Hebrews 10:26: For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the Truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins.

I want to be clear that this does not mean that once we know we should keep the whole Torah and do not, does not mean we cannot be forgiven once we strive to keep the Torah. Paul is simply explaining to the Hebrews that the continual sacrifice was done away with and that anyone who lives a life of continual transgression will not receive forgiveness. I will shortly explain the definition of what people call “the only unforgivable sin” – blasphemy of the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaQodash).

The forgiveness of transgressing the Law of Aluahim only happens through a sacrifice. The sacrifice is part of the Torah (Law) and therefore only offered up for those who keep the Torah (Law) or strive to keep it. Those who do not strive to keep the Law (Torah) cannot offer up a sacrifice according to the Torah. These people are Lawless and therefore without sacrifice or without the atoning blood of the Lamb (Mashiach), and so will be seen as unrighteous and unjustified in the eyes of YAHUAH. Yahushua plainly tells us,

Matthew 7:21-23: Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Master, Master,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Master, Master, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice Lawlessness (anomos)!

Take note that it is those who practice sin, denoting something they do (by action) on the regular. The opposite of this would be those who practice (by action) keeping the Law of Aluahim. The Greek word Yahushua used is nomos, which is the Greek equivalent to the Hebrew word Torah. I will say it again. No Torah no sacrifice. If you do not strive to keep the whole Torah, then you will not be covered in the atoning blood of the Lamb. The Prophet writes,

Malachi 2:8-9: But you are departed out of the way; you have caused many to stumble at the Law (Torah); you have corrupted the covenant of Levi, said YAHUAH of hosts. Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the Law (Torah)

Notice that Malachi separates the Law (Torah) of Aluahim from the Levitical covenant. This was to ensure that we know that the Law of Aluahim was not done away with on the cross, but instead, the Levitical priesthood was.

It is yet not too late to come out of the world of sin, and to serve the One True Aluahim, and keep His Torah (Law); His appointed times, precepts, and His ten commandments. It is only another excuse to live a life of self-gratification to say that you cannot turn away from your current lifestyle, or that you were born this way, or that it’s ok because Aluahim knows your heart. Yes, He knows just how treacherous our heart is, and that is why He gave us His Law to keep us in the path of righteousness. YAHUAH would have never given us His Law if it were impossible to keep. After the Apostle Paul gives an example of whom is unrighteous, he says something very beautiful,

1 Corinthians 6:11: And such were some of you: but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Master Yahushua, and by the Spirit of our Aluahim.

This is two-thousand years of proof that anyone can turn away from their life of sin to keeping YAHUAH’S Law. And once again, the reenactment of the Torah is seen in the idea of water cleansing our sins or uncleanliness in the form of baptism. Baptism is our opportunity to start over. To let go of our sinful behaviors, accept the blood of the Lamb, and start keeping the Law of our Creator. The Prophet records the Word of YAHUAH,

Isaiah 1:16-20: Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings [sins] from before My eyes. Cease to do evil [sin], Learn to do good [to keep the Law]; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow. “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says YAHUAH, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient [in keeping the Torah], You shall eat the good of the land [in New Yarushalam]; But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword”; For the mouth of YAHUAH has spoken.

If we want to live forever with our Creator then we must turn from our wicked ways and keep His Law. Through the hand of a Prophet, YAHUAH tells us,

Malachi 3:7: Even from the days of your fathers you have gone away from My ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto Me, and I will return unto you.

See, returning to YAHUAH means obeying what is written in His Torah. All of Christendom claim that the Mashiach is their king but are merely stating vain words, because they do not keep the king’s Law (Torah) which is the same as the Law of his Father (Aluahim). They “have been partial in the Law”, not striving to keep all of YAHUAH’S commandments, precepts and ordinances, and appointed times. About these “luke-warm” supposed followers of Mashiach, Yahushua says,

Revelation 3:16: So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spit you out of My mouth.

Most professed followers of Mashiach ignorantly violent YAHUAH’S Law (Torah), because they have been deceived into falsely believing that YAHUAH’S Torah: His appointed times, His ordinances, and His ten commandments have been done away with. But YAHUAH’S Law is merely a reflection of Him and His Son’s character. He is Love. He is Just. He is Good. He is Holy. He is Perfect. He is Light. He is Life. And He is True. Now, let’s read a few Scriptures that describe the characteristics of the Law.

1 John 5:3: For this is the love of Aluahimthat we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous

Psalms 19:7: The Law of YAHUAH is perfect, converting the soul: the Testimony of Aluahim is sure, making wise the simple.

Romans 7:12: Wherefore the Law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good

Proverbs 6:23: For the commandment is a lamp; and the Law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life.

Ecclesiastes 17:11: Beside this He gave them knowledge, and the Law of life for an heritage.

Malachi 2:6: The Law of Truth was in His mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: He walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.

Psalms 119:142: Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your Law is the Truth.

By striving to keep our Creator’s Law, we are endeavoring to become closer to Him. Closer to love, justice, goodness, holiness, perfection, light, life, and truth. And these are the qualities that will be seen in all of Aluahim’s people. Aluahim says,

Leviticus 19:2: Speak to all the congregation of the sons of Yasharal (Israel) and say to them, You shall be holy, for I YAHUAH am Holy.

And Yahushua quotes the Scriptures by saying,

Matthew 5:48: You are to be perfect, as your Heavenly Father is Perfect

Aluahim tells us to be holy and perfect. But how is this possible when the world teaches that we cannot obtain perfection in this body nor become holy on earth? The answer lies in the knowledge of what perfection is.

First, let’s come to understand that we are all born sinless. If sin is defined as “transgression of the Law”, then all babies are born sinless. I have to ask you, which sin, or commandment was transgressed by that sweet, perfect, being? Not one. Babies are the ideal example of perfection. As perfect as a human being with a sinful nature can be, that is. That very moment a baby is born into the world, the mother cradles it with her loving arms, looks into its eyes, and says, “you are perfect!”. Why is a baby perfect? Because it is without sin. It has not yet transgressed the Law of Aluahim.

See, we have our standards of perfection on earth while YAHUAH’S standards in heaven are much different. We will never rise to heavenly perfection here on earth because we have a fallen nature, but we can strive for earthly perfection by practicing keeping Aluahim’s Law every single day. To obtain earthly perfection we must be continuously living a life of refinement. This is when we also become holy, devoting ourselves to YAHUAH and His Law. We fight every day to not break His Law by either action nor thought (refer to Matthew 5:28). We strive to obtain that innocence, and purity of heart, we once had as babes. “Except you be converted and become as little children” Yahushua says, “you shall not enter into the Kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3). We will always have a fallen/sinful nature, but in Mashiach we can become perfected. Perhaps like Job, YAHUAH will say about us, “…that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that fears YAHUAH, and eschews evil” (Job 1:8).

YAHUAH’S Law is from “generation to generation”. Yahushua tells us,

Matthew 5:17-18: Think not that I am come to destroy the Law (Nomos), or the Prophets; I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, until heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the Law (Nomos), till all be fulfilled.

He further states,

Matthew 5:19: Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the Kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the Kingdom of heaven.

Most professed followers of Mashiach (Christians) will say that Yahushua didn’t keep the whole Law, or that He changed the Law, but all this would imply that Yahushua sinned, since the definition of sin is “the transgression of the Law”. Yahushua kept all ten commandments including the Sabbath, all the appointed times based on the lunar months, and all His Father’s precepts and ordinances. Yahushua would not have changed what He and His Father did or said in times past. Yahushua is the Word of Aluahim in the flesh, and Aluahim is ever-knowing, therefore makes no wrong decision and has no fault in His actions or words. If any part of the Law was done away with by the Mashiach, then Yahushua would have been absolutely clear and it would not be up for debate. It is only in debate today, because man has twisted the Scriptures, taught doctrines from verses out of context, and have been deceived by the Adversary that the Law of our Creator is done away with.

There is not one Scripture that plainly tells us that any part of the Torah (Law), other than the earthly sacrificial system, was done away with after Mashiach’S sacrifice. YAHUAH’S Torah (Law) has always been and will always be expected of us to keep if we want to maintain YAHUAH’S covenant and be granted everlasting life.

From the beginning of this world to the end of it, “until heaven and earth pass” as Yahushua puts it, it is expected of YAHUAH’S people to keep both His Torah (Law); the ten commandments, appointed times, and ordinances, along with His Testimony (the Prophets). Moses writes,

Deuteronomy 7:9: Know therefore that YAHUAH your Aluahim, He is Aluahim, the faithful Aluahim, which keeps covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His Commandments to a thousand generations.

The Covenant and the Cross

To understand what was nailed to the cross we must first comprehend what the Law (Torah) of Aluahim is and what the covenant is. We have just previously learned that most of the precepts in the Torah simply expound upon the ten commandments. Now all we need to know is what part of the Torah was either done away with and why, and what part of the Torah has simply transitioned from an earthly practice to a heavenly one. The Prophet Daniel clearly prophesied what part of the Torah (Law) would change after Mashiach’S death. The messenger (angel) Gabriel tells Daniel,

Daniel 9:27: Then He (Mashiach) will confirm the covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He will bring a stop to sacrifices and gift offerings.

The doing away of the earthly sacrificial system which is the Levitical covenant mentioned by Malachi (refer to Malachi 2:8-9) is not debated by most. This was made clear when the temple was rent in half directly after Mashiach’S death. Yahushua said,

John 2:19: Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

Yahushua our Mashiach and king destroyed the earthly temple and became our one-time sacrifice. This sacrifice atoned for our sins here in the earth so that we can have the opportunity to enter into New Yarushalam. The earthly temple was merely a copy of the heavenly temple. As the earthly temple required a high priest, Yahushua is our acting High Priest in the heavenly temple. As the earthly temple required the shedding of blood for transgression of the Torah (Law), Yahushua’s blood atoned for all earthly sins while cleansing the heavenly sanctuary in order to minister to the Most-High on our behalf. The blood of Yahushua our Mashiach has allowed us to ask for forgiveness of sins through prayer while providing the way into the New Kingdom (refer to 1 John 2:1-2).

The concept of the earthly sacrificial system coming to an end was hard for the Hebrews to grasp because it was a deeply rooted practice done amongst them for nearly 1,500 years. This is why Paul’s letter to the Hebrews is the go to source for understanding the transition from the earthly to the heavenly sanctuary. In Paul’s letter to the Hebrews, he breaks this concept down while confirming that the covenant Law (Torah) will not change until the New Kingdom. He writes,

Hebrews 8:7-13: For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. Because finding fault with them, He says: “Behold, the days are coming, says YAHUAH, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Yasharal and with the house of Yahudah — not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says YAHUAH. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Yasharal after those days, says YAHUAH: I will put My Laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their Aluahim, and they shall be My people. None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know YAHUAH,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

This passage tells us some very important details. I must first point out that every time a Prophet writes, “in those days”, he is referring to either: the day of Mashiach’S return, the thousand-year reign, or the New Kingdom (after the thousand-year reign). From these words, we can gather that this “new covenant” is not established until after Yahushua’S second coming. Now, let’s carefully take a look at these words.

Paul tells us that the fault was not in the covenant but with Aluahim’s people who chose not to keep it. This is why Paul wrote, “Because finding fault with them”, and “because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them”. The first generation from the Exodus did not make it to the promised land because they did not keep YAHUAH’S covenant. The same is with the heavenly land of New Canaan, for those who do not keep YAHUAH’S covenant will not be permitted to enter.

Paul tells us they shall not teach every man his neighbor. And the Gospel is still clearly being preached.

Paul says, all shall know Me. And not every person in the world knows the Aluahim of the Bible.

And lastly, Paul writes, their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more”. The sins of the wicked are still remembered by Aluahim, for He has not yet judged all the sinners.

As Mashiach is ready to return and gather his sheep, the old covenant “is ready to vanish away”, but has not yet. There would have been no reason for Aluahim to lay down His life on behalf of transgressing His Law if there is no more Law. Yahushua’S sacrifice confirmed that the covenant Law still stands. We need His atoning blood to cover our sins. what sins? the transgression of YAHUAH’S Torah which is His covenant amongst His children. We still need the blood of the Lamb to cover our unrighteousness, but in the New World, all things will be made perfect. There will be no need for a Lamb because there will be no more sin (transgression of the Torah). As the Prophets tells us, the Law of Aluahim will be in our minds and hearts, and this is the “new covenant” that has yet to be established. Paul is simply echoing the words of the Prophets who wrote,

Ezekiel 36:26: A new heart (leb) also will I give you, and a new spirit (ruach) will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

Jeremiah 31:33: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Yasharal; After those days, says YAHUAH, I will put My Law in their inward parts (qereb), and write it in their hearts (leb); and will be their Aluahim, and they shall be My people.

Man has not yet been given a new heart, mind, spirit, and this does not happen until after the return of our Savior. The Law (Torah) of Aluahim has not been written on our hearts or else there would be no more transgression of it. On the evening before Yahushua gave up His life for our transgressions, He commanded us to practice communion. He said,

Matthew 26:28: This is My blood of the [new] covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

It is essential to know that the word “new” is added in many Bible versions. This was purposely done to help create a new religion (Christianity) that completely leaves out the covenant Law (Torah). The Greek word used for covenant is Strong’s Concordance number 1242, diatheke: covenant, testament.

The so-called New Testament Scriptures are nothing new at all but rather testimonies that support the same covenant made with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Israel (Yasharal). Yahushua did not come down to earth to make a so-called “new” covenant with man, but to re-confirm the original covenant made with Abraham that was later established with the children of Yasharal. The ISR Version Bible puts it this way,

Matthew 26:28 (ISR): For this is My blood, that of the renewed covenant, which is shed for many for the forgiveness of sins.

The supposed “New Testament” Scriptures are not new ideas, concepts, doctrines, beliefs, etc. They simply further explain the Law and the Prophets (Tanakh). The Hebrew word used to describe the Gospels, Epistles, Letters, and Revelations is Brit Chadashah. The word brit simply means: covenant, and most will say that the word chadashah means: new, but this not true. The Hebrew word chadashah comes from the root word chadash which is Strong’s Concordance number 2318, chadash (khaw-dash): A primitive root; to be new; causatively, to rebuild – renew, repair, restore.

This same root word (chadash) is used to describe what is wrongfully called the New Moon (the Full New Moon and not the dark crescent) which is technically the Renewed Moon hence the restoration of the light returning to the moon making it full yet again.

The word Brit Chadashah should be translated as: the Renewed Covenant. Yahushua did not come to make a new covenant but to confirm the existing covenant. The Prophet and song writer David writes,

1 Chronicles 16:13-18: O seed of Yasharal His servant, you children of Jacob, His chosen ones! He is YAHUAH our Aluahim; His judgments are in all the earth. Remember His covenant forever, the Word which He commanded, for a thousand generations, The covenant which He made with Abraham, and His oath to Isaac, and confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, to Yasharal for an everlasting covenant, saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan [new Canaan] as the allotment of your inheritance.”

Our duty as followers of the Mashiach is to preach the everlasting gospel which is the everlasting covenant made with man, and this is why YAHUAH refers to us as “the repairers of the breach”. Isaiah writes,

Isaiah 58:12: Those from among you will rebuild the ancient ruins; you will raise up the age-old foundations; and you will be called the Repairer of the breach, the Restorer of the path (nethibah) in which to dwell.

The Dictionary definition of the word breach means: an act of breaking or failing to observe a law, or code of conduct.

Our duty as children of YAHUAH and followers of the Mashiach is to teach people to keep Aluahim’s Torah (Law) which is our side of the covenant or promise in order to receive the land of New Canaan (New Yarushalam). The same Hebrew word for path (nethibah) used by the Prophet Isaiah is used by the Prophet Jeremiah when YAHUAH tells us,

Jeremiah 6:16: Thus says YAHUAH, “Stand in the ways and see and ask for the ancient path (nethibah) [Isaiah says age-old foundations], where the good way is [the Law is good], and walk in it [Isaiah says dwell]; and you will find rest for your souls [that rest is the land of New Canaan]

Remember, the fault was not with the covenant but with man (refer to Hebrews 8:8). We are still expected to keep the everlasting covenant Law (Torah) and to teach men to also do so (refer to Matthew 5:19).

Now, back to the evening Yahushua commanded us to keep communion. When Yahushua said, “this is the blood of the covenant”, He was reconfirming the exact same covenant made with Yasharal in Mount Sinai. Yahushua is the Word of YAHUAH, so anything YAHUAH says in the Tanakh (Old Testament) will be supported by His son – the Word in the flesh, in the Brit Chadashah (New Testament). Let’s take a quick look at the time when Yasharal affirms the covenant with Aluahim. Moses writes,

Exodus 24:7-8: Then he (Moses) took the Book of the Covenant [Torah] and read in the hearing of the people. And they said, “All that YAHUAH has said we will do, and be obedient.” And Moses took the blood, sprinkled it on the people, and said, “This is the blood of the covenant which YAHUAH has made with you according to all these Words.”

The fruit of the vine (freshly squeezed grape juice and not fermented wine) represents the covenant blood sprinkled on us. When we perform communion we are saying, “All that YAHUAH has said we will do, and be obedient”. The fruit of the vine represents the renewal of the same covenant made with Moses and the children of Yasharal. This current covenant requires blood on behalf of sin, and the wine is a symbol of that one-time sin offering sprinkled on those who promise to keep the covenant Law. The new covenant will be established when Aluahim takes out our stony heart of sin and replaces it with a heart that follows after Him and keeps His Law perfectly. Therefore no longer needing a sin (transgression of the Torah) sacrifice. That is what Yahushua was referring to when he said that he would not drink from the fruit of the vine until it was made new in his Father’s Kingdom (refer to Matthew 26:29). This is that new wine; the new covenant, that will be made with the children of Yasharal after the thousand-year reign. This is what that the Prophet Joel refers to when he records the Word of YAHUAH saying,

Joel 3:18: And it will come to pass in that day that the mountains shall drip with new wine…

We practice communion “in remembrance of Me” as Yahushua puts it to remind us of His sacrifice, it reminds us to keep the Law (Torah) which is our side of the covenant or promise, and it reminds us that in His Kingdom which is yet to come we will be made perfect – live for the will and Law of Aluahim. It’s important to understand that the covenant Law will not change in New Yarushalam, for we will only be made perfect and therefore no more fault on our behalf. We will still be expected to keep YAHUAH’S Law, but we will never transgress it because His Law (Torah) will be written in our hearts. There will be no need for a sin offering, because sin (transgression of the Torah) will be no more.

Now take note that Yahushua said, poured out for many”. He did not say “poured out for all”. This is because His atoning blood was only poured out for those who keep the Law (Torah). No Law. No sacrifice!

The reason why the Law (Torah) is sometimes referred to as the covenant Law is because the keeping of the Law (Torah) is our side of the deal. We keep the Law and YAHUAH grants us everlasting life in His Kingdom where we reign as priests and kings. Keep in mind, the earthly sacrificial system and Levitical priesthood was done away with, but there is still a priesthood or priests of the Most-High YAHUAH. If we desire to learn how to better worship YAHUAH then it is our duty to take the role of one of His priests. This includes: declaring and blowing the shofar on New Moon days, Sabbaths, and Appointed Times, learning the heavenly lights which give us signs of the times (prophesy) and when the Moedim (appointed times) should be kept, and spending as much time as possible studying the Torah and the Prophets (Tanakh). YAHUAH has always given His people an act or sign that declared to Him that they would keep their side of the deal or covenant. Abraham was given circumcision and Mashiach gave us communion. Paul tells us,

1 Corinthians 7:19: Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of Aluahim is what matters.

Paul is not telling us that circumcision was done away with. He simply telling us that it doesn’t matter if one is circumcised in the flesh if their heart is not circumcised; living for the will of Aluahim. He is telling us that it does not matter if we choose to circumcise our young men if we are not going to teach them to keep the Law. Paul is merely restating the words of the Prophet Ezekiel when he writes,

Ezekiel 44:9: Thus says YAHUAH Aluahim; no stranger uncircumcised in heart nor uncircumcised in flesh shall enter My sanctuary, including any foreigner who is among the children of Yasharal.

I want to first point out that circumcision is part of the Law thus, not done away with. Also, YAHUAH plainly tells us that it is required of by any and all persons who desire to be amongst the children of Yasharal. Circumcision is just a physical action which both separates the children of men from the children of YAHUAH and shows YAHUAH that we plan to keep our side of the covenant.

Mashiach gave a similar teaching concerning clean and unclean foods. When Mashiach said, “Not that which goes into the mouth that defiles a man, but that which comes out the mouth, this defiles a man” (Matthew 15:11), He was not telling us that the list of unclean foods were done away with but that it doesn’t matter if you are keeping that list if what comes out of your mouth is unclean. The main take away from these teachings from Paul and Yahushua is that we are to strive to keep the whole Law. James sums it up by writing,

James 2:10: For whosoever shall keep the whole Law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

The Covenant Law (Torah in Hebrew and Nomos in Greek) will remain all the way up until there is a new heaven and a new earth (refer to Matthew 5:18). So then, what was nailed to the cross? Let’s read the Scripture in context where Paul states that something written in the Torah (Law) was nailed to the cross. It reads,

Colossians 2:13-14: And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses (paraptoma), blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us: and He (Yahushua) has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

Now let’s break this passage down by starting with some perspective. Paul is speaking to a Gentile nation (Colossae) hence why he calls them uncircumcised. The Colossian church was located in modern day Turkey near many other churches that Paul set up. This was the same area in which Paul was born. Paul tells them that they were dead in their trespasses and the uncircumcision of their flesh. What does this mean? It means that they were transgressing the Torah without even fully knowing it because in the Torah, there is something called trespass and guilt ordinances.

These trespass and guilt ordinances required a sacrifice from sins that were either done unintentionally or sins due to touching a dead carcass. The Gentiles knew nothing about these trespass and guilt ordinances because they did not have such written precepts amongst them, so they did not know that they were unclean, that they were sinning unintentionally, or that they were supposed to be circumcised. The trespass and guilt commandments can be found in Leviticus chapters 5-7. The sacrifice and gift offerings required for these trespass and guilt ordinances were done away with because they were attached to the earthly sacrificial system.

It is very important to notice that Paul specifically does not use the Greek word Nomos which is the Greek equivalent to the Hebrew word Torah but instead, he uses the word Paraptoma. This is Strong’s Concordance number 3900, paraptoma: a false step, a trespass.

The Gentiles (Colossians, Corinthians, Romans, etc), being uncircumcised as Paul mentions because they did not receive such a command along with other covenant ordinances, were forgiven for their ignorance or unintentional sins (false steps) and therefore should no longer hold guilt (refer to Acts 17:30).

The ordinances that were “against us” as Paul states were both the trespass and guilt offerings (being that they are part of the earthly sacrificial system), and along with the civil ordinances that the nation of Yasharal (Israel) had to abide by when they were a nation under YAHUAH. I will further explain in the next few paragraphs.

Paul uses the terminology “against us” for a couple different reasons. First, because he is half Gentile (Roman father), and therefore putting himself amongst the Gentiles when speaking about the trespass and guilt offerings that no longer affect them, hence saying “us” (refer to 1 Corinthians 9:20-23). As Gentiles living in Gentile nations, we are under grace for our guilt or unintentional sins (sins done ignorantly), and therefore are forgiven, “having forgiven you all trespasses” as Paul puts it. We no longer live in guilt, but we live for the will of YAHUAH.

Now that the Colossians were told that their ignorance of not keeping the Torah was forgiven, they were then taught the Torah and told to keep it from here on out. Paul further explains this in two verses later when he writes,

Colossians 2:16: Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holy day [appointed times], or the New Moon, or of the Sabbath days, which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Mashiach.

Remember, Paul is speaking to Gentiles who are used to eating unclean meat, consuming alcohol, keeping pagan worship days, and not observing the new moon (full New Moon) nor the Sabbath days. So this is why he tells them to not worry about their fellow pagan neighbor judging them for keeping YAHUAH’S Torah: list of clean and unclean foods, remaining sober, keeping His appointed times, observing New Moon day (full new moon), and keeping the Sabbaths. Think about it, are you judged for drinking alcohol and celebrating Christmas and Easter, and eating bacon, and going to church on Sundays, or are you judged for not doing these things? Paul then, using the future tense plainly tells them that the Law points to something bigger that has not yet come. Hence the wording, which are a shadow of things to come”.

The second reason why Paul used the terminology “against us” is because he is half Yahudim (Hebrew mother), and therefore putting himself amongst the Yahudim (Jews), hence saying “us”, because he is also referring to the Hebrew civil ordinances or “blotting out the handwriting of ordinances” as he puts it. Paul intelligently uses this terminology both literally and metaphorically as it points back to the words spoken by Moses in Deuteronomy 31:6 when Moses puts the book of the Law (Torah) on the side of the ark. It contained the civil or national ordinances in which the children of Yasharal were to uphold after they crossed the Jordan river into the land of Canaan. It was not just the trespass and guilt offerings (being part of the earthly sacrificial system) that were done away with on the cross, but all of Yasharal’s (Israel’s) civil ordinances – national laws, because the Hebrews were now under Roman jurisdiction and no longer a nation under YAHUAH. Since the cross, there has not been a non-Gentile nation. The list of these national or civil ordinances are mentioned in Deuteronomy 17-25. Paul is referring to these civil ordinances (Yasharal’s national laws) when he continues to further explain what was nailed to the cross. He writes,

Colossians 2:15: In this way, He (Yahushua) disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by His victory over them on the cross

Yahushua striped away both the political and religious power that the Pharisees held over the people because he became both the king and high priest of YAHUAH’S Kingdom. The nation of Yasharal (Israel) used to be a political kingdom ran by spiritual leaders (judges, anointed kings, priests, Pharisees and Sadducees). But after denying and crucifying their Aluahim and Savior, they no longer had a nation under YAHUAH, but were rather submitted to keeping the civil laws of the Roman empire. Nothing has changed, for the Roman empire runs the whole world and we are all Gentiles living in Gentile nations awaiting “until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled” (Luke 21:24), and Yahushua returns to gather His people so that they can reign with Him in His Kingdom as kings and priests.

Paul further explains this concept in the next three verses, by mentioning worldly or civil ordinances and laws which derive from the precepts and doctrines of men. We read,

Colossians 2:20-23: Therefore, if you died with Mashiach from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations. Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle, which all concern things which perish with the using – according to the commandments and doctrines of men? These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.

Paul is telling us not to live according to the world and to worldly or civil (national) laws, but to the Law (Nomos in Greek or Torah in Hebrew) of YAHUAH. This goes along with Peter’s writings (refer to Acts 5:29, 1 Peter 2:13) and Paul’s letter to the Romans (refer to Romans 13:1). We are told to “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to Aluahim the things that are Aluahim’s” (Matthew 22:21), but if man’s civil laws go against the Law (Torah) of YAHUAH “We ought to obey YAHUAH rather than men” (Acts 5:29). And we will all be tested on this shortly as the enforcement of the mark of the Beast approaches.

It is important to understand what parts of the Torah are part of the everlasting covenant, which ones are civil ordinances – laws pertaining to Yasharal as a nation under YAHUAH, and which pertain to the earthly sacrificial system. I encourage everyone who desires to hold a deeper relationship with our Creator to avidly study both the Law and the Prophets (Tankh) using your Concordance. The Law itself is a typology. As there were judges in the time of Joshua, Samson, Deborah, Gideon, Jephthah, Eli, and Samuel there will once again be a time of judges during the thousand-year reign when all who have overcome the Law (Torah in Hebrew and Nomos in Greek) through the blood of the Lamb will judge those who did not strive to keep it.

Faith in the Truth

Many professed followers of Mashiach will say that they are “in the Truth” but have no idea what that really means nor what the Truth is. Those who are whole heartedly searching for the Truth will be led to the Torah. This section of the article will define what the Truth is. Referring to the gates of the holy city of New Yarushalam, the Prophet writes,

Isaiah 26:2: Open the gates, that the righteous nation that keeps faith may enter.

The Prophet is clearly telling us that the only people that can enter into Aluahim’s Kingdom are those who keep the Faith. Therefore, it is imperative that we learn both what the Truth is and how to show faith in the Truth. In the letter to the church in Corinth, Paul tells us that the Truth is the exact opposite of sin. It reads,

1 Corinthians 13:6: Rejoice not in iniquity, but rejoice in the Truth.

If iniquity or sin is transgression of the Law of Aluahim, then the Truth must be the keeping of the Law of Aluahim. And the Psalmist verifies this by writing, “Your Law is the Truth” (Psalm 119:142). Therefore, the Prophet Isaiah is telling us that those who keep the Law or in other words “keep faith”, may enter into Aluahim’s Kingdom.

This should be completely clear. Although, there is more to uncover. Yahushua tells us,

Matthew 7:14: Strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it.

Yahushua also tells us,

John 14:26: I am the waythe truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.

Yahushua told us that He fulfilled the Law, as in He never transgressed it, but kept every single commandment, appointed time, and Sabbath. Yahushua also tells us that he is “the gate”, in which we must go through in order to get to the Father. And, he also tells us that he is “the way and the truth”. This implies that the only way to enter into the gates of YAHUAH’S Kingdom is to go through Yahushua – our king. If both the Law and Yahushua are the Truth, then Yahushua is his Law. This means that going through Yahushua – the mediator and king, means going through the Law (Torah).

We are told to Strive to enter in at the strait gate” (Luke 13:24), and to walk as MASSIACH walked (refer to 1 John 2:6). Yahushua kept every single commandment, appointed time, and Sabbath. Therefore, we must strive to be like Mashiach and also keep YAHUAH’S Law; His ten commandments, His appointed times, and His ordinances, so that we can triumphantly, “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name” (Psalm 100:4).

There is simply one way to enter into YAHUAH’S Kingdom; to accept the atoning blood of Mashiach by keeping Aluahim’s Law. Once again, we read,

Isaiah 26:2: Open the gates, that the righteous nation that keeps faith may enter.

And in the book of Revelations there is a parallel verse. John tells us,

Revelation 22:14: Blessed are they do [action which shows faith] His Commandments, that they may have the right to the Tree of Life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

We are simply being told that the people that keep faith in the Truth are those who strive to keep the Law (Torah) of Aluahim, hence they are righteous. The Truth and the Law are the same and showing faith is merely taking the action in keeping the Law or the Truth. John further writes,

Revelation 14:12: Here is the patience of the saints; here are they that keep the commandments of Aluahim, and the faith (pistis) of Yahushua.

Notice how John links the commandments of Aluahim (the Law) with faith in Yahushua HaMashiach. This is because Yahushua is the Law of Aluahim – He is the Aleph and the Taw, the Torah and the Prophets, the Reshith and the Amen, the Beginning and the End, and only through the Law do we show our faith or belief in Yahushua. Only through believing (Greek word pistis) in the Son of Aluahim can we be granted eternal life.

Furthermore, in his Gospel, John writes,

John 3:16: For Aluahim so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes (pistis) in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The Greek word used by John for believes is Strong’s Concordance number 4100pisteuon: From the root word pistis, to have faith, to entrust.

This root word pistis was also used by John to describe those who keep the commandments of Aluahim (refer to Revelation 14:12), and it was also used by Paul when he wrote to the Romans concerning the Law (Torah in Hebrew, Nomos in Greek). He states,

Romans 3:31: Do we then make void the Law (Nomos) through faith (pistis)? Aluahim forbid: yes, we establish the Law.

Yahushua was sent to those who show their belief or faith in Him by keeping His Torah (Law): His ten commandments, His appointed times, and His ordinances. Paul writes,

Galatians 4:4-5:  But when the fullness of the time had come, Aluahim sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law (Nomos), to redeem those who are under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons [and daughters].

See, this is why Yahushua said,“This is My blood of the Covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins” (Matthew 26:28). He did not say all, because He is only referring to those who strive to keep His Torah (Law), or as Paul puts it, “under the Law”. This is just like when John wrote “for whosoever believes in Him will have everlasting life” (John 3:16). By keeping YAHUAH’S Law (Torah), and His Testimony (Prophets) we are actively showing our faith/belief in Yahushua HaMashiach.  This is considered living in the Truth.

Our brother James clarifies this in his Epistle by writing,

James 2:14-20: What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith (pistis) but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith (pistis) by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, you have faith (pistis), and I have works (or actions): show me your faith (pistis) without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe there is One Aluahim; you do well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith (pistis) without works (actions) is dead.

Notice how James mentions that Satan’s angels (devils or demons) belief in Yahushua, but they do not keep Aluahim’s commandments and therefore lack the actions needed to not be destroyed. Hence, “they tremble”. We are not just to observe the Torah, but to do the Torah. We are not just to meditate on the Torah, but to keep the Torah. The Torah demands both mind and body, both thought and action. YAHUAH tells us that His Torah – His ten commandments, appointed times, and ordinances are a sign or mark between Him and Yasharal (Israel). Moses writes,

Deuteronomy 6:8: And you shall bind them [YAHUAH’S commandments] for a sign (Oth: mark) upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eye

The hand represents action – doing, keeping, and practice perfecting the Torah. The frontlets between the eyes represents the frontal lobe – thought, meditation, and observance of the Torah. The Hebrew word אוֹת (oth), which is Strong’s Concordance number 226 is spelt “Aleph” (א) “Waw” (וֹ) “Taw” (ת) and it means: sign or mark.

Yahushua Himself tells us, “I am the Aleph and the Taw” (Revelation 1:8). If Aluahim’s Torah is His אוֹת (sign or mark), then it is even more obvious that Aluahim is His Torah. The “Aleph” and the “Taw” in the word אוֹת represent the beginning and the end. The “Waw” (picture of a nail/hook/peg) in the middle of the word אוֹת represents Mashiach – YAHUAH’S son, who sacrificed himself on our behalf in order for us to continue striving in the Truth; keep Aluahim’s Torah (Law) and Prophets (Testimony). From the “Aleph” (beginning with Adam) to the “Taw” (ending with the last day remnant) we are expected to show our faith or belief in YAHUAH by keeping His Torah – which is His אוֹת (sign or mark).

Now let’s read one more definition the Bible gives us of what sin is. Our brother James writes,

James 4:17: Therefore to him that knows to do good (kalos), and does it not, to him it is a sin.

The Greek word used for good, kalos, can also be translated as right. Paul tells us in Romans 7:12 that “the Law is good”. The Psalmist tells us, “The statues of YAHUAH are right” (Psalm 19:8). Aluahim’s commandments are the good or right works, and faith by works (implying action) that our brother James is speaking about. James is telling us that once we are taught to keep Aluahim’s Law; His ten commandments, appointed times, and ordinances, and then choose not to, then we are willfully sinning because we know it is the good or right thing to do. And about that, Paul writes,

Hebrews 10:26: For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the Truth, there remain no more sacrifice for sins.

And what is the Truth? Truth is the opposite of sin, or as David writes, “Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your Law is the Truth” (Psalm 119:142). We can easily read Hebrews 10:26 as “knowledge of the Law of Aluahim”, hence why he writes afterwards, “there remains no more sacrifice for sins”. Remember, sacrifice is part of the Torah (Law). No Torah (Law) no sacrifice!

Of course, our Creator is forever merciful and will take us back if we repent of our transgressions and turn back to His Law. The countless stories in the Bible remind us that if we go astray yet return back to keeping YAHUAH’S Torah (Law) and Testimony (Prophets) then we will be worthy enough to be mentioned by Paul in the so-called “faith chapter” in the letter to the Hebrews (refer to Hebrews 11). YAHUAH reminds us,

Exodus 34:6-7: YAHUAH, YAHUAH Aluahim, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty.

Yahushua reminds us,

Matthew 12:31-32: And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy (blasphemia) against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against (kata) the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

No matter what transgression we have done, YAHUAH has promised us that we will be forgiven if we ask for forgiveness and start striving to keep His Law. Let’s take a quick look at the two words Yahushua uses when speaking about the only thing that will never be forgiven.

Strong’s Concordance number 988, blasphemia: blasphemy. HELPS Word study says this about the Greek word blasphemia: slow to call something good and slow to call something bad. “switches” right for wrong (wrong for right), i.e. calls what God [Aluahim] disapproves, “right” which “exchanges the truth of God [Aluahim] for a lie”.

Strong’s Concordance number 2596, kata: against. Usage: against, down from, throughout, over against, among, daily, day-by-day, each day, according to, by way of.

Our Creator is so graciously merciful, understanding, and leaves every single decision up to us. It is up to us to either keep His Law or not. Yahushua is basically telling us that we have to continually deny His Law (Torah) every single day until we die in order to not be forgiven of our transgressions. We have to be teaching and practicing sin, or in other words living a life contrary to the Law of Aluahim. Anyone who says that the Law (Torah) was done away with is blaspheming the Ruach HaQodash (Holy Spirit), but they can still be forgiven because Yahushua tells us that this practice has to be done day by day. If one day that person is led to the Truth and begins to both keep and teach the Law then they can be forgiven. Yahushua tells us,

Matthew 5:19: Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the Kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the Kingdom of heaven.

YAHUAH’S perfection, truth, purity, holiness, goodness, and love are all wrapped together in His Law of liberty and righteousness. He has always only asked us to love Him with our whole heart, and to love our neighbor as ourselves, which is the summary of His Law (Torah). YAHUAH even sent His only begotten Son – Aluahim in the flesh, to show us how to keep His Law – how to love Him with all our might, and how to love our neighbor. Praise YAHUAH for showing us how to both build a relationship, and worship Him better. The Psalmist tells us,

Psalm 94:12: Blessed is the man whom You chasten, O YAHUAH, and teaches him out of Your Law.

Psalm 111:10: The fear of YAHUAH is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His commandments: His praise endures forever.

It is not yet too late to turn away from a life of transgressing our Creators Law, and to seek the Truth – the Law (Torah) of Aluahim and the Word (Testimony) of Aluahim. For “If you be risen with Mashiach, seek those things which are above, where Mashiach sits in the right hand of YAHUAH” (Colossians 3:1). To keep His Law means living for YAHUAH’S Kingdom which is yet to come. Unfortunately, just like the days of Mashiach, people still think that Yahushua will set up a temporal Kingdom. But Yahushua reminds us,

John 18:36: My Kingdom is not of this world.

And,

John 4:23-24: The hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth: for the Father seeks such to worship Him. Aluahim is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth

Worshipping in Spirit signifies YAHUAH’S Spirit, even the Ruach HaQodash (set apart Spirit or Holy Spirit) dwelling in us, for “you are the temple of Aluahim” (1 Corinthians 3:16), says Paul. And for one last time, worshipping in Truth points to YAHUAH’S Law; His ten commandments, appointed times, and ordinances. It also represents the Testimony of Yahushua HaMashiach written by the Prophets in Aluahim’s Word (the Scriptures), for Yahushua says, Your Word is Truth” (John 17:17). Yahushua, the Word of Aluahim manifested in the flesh declares, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life” (John 14:6). Yahushua is the Gate, the Truth, the Law, the Life, the Word, and the means to Salvation. He is YAHUAH’S Salvation. We’re told,

James 1:25: whosoever looks into the perfect Law of liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

John 8:32: And you shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free.

Romans 6:17-18: But Aluahim be thanked, that you were the servants of sin (transgression of the Torah), but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you [to keep the Torah]. Being then made free from sin, you became the servants of righteousness [servants of Yahushua].

In his letter to the Romans, Paul is telling us that we have become freed from Satan’s snares and from the judgment of eternal death by becoming servants of the Truth, which is living for the Kingdom of Aluahim. This is where Yahushua sits on the throne of David and judges the inhabitants of his Kingdom. Those who strive to keep faith in the Truth (the Torah and the Prophets), will be saved from the wrath of YAHUAH Aluahim – Creator and Father of all.

The beloved John is telling us that knowing YAHUSHUA our king, high priest, and judge, means walking as he walked. We must keep the Torah and the Prophets in order to be made free. Free from the bondage of sin and death.

And James is plainly telling us that those who keep (do or fulfill by action) the Law of Aluahim will be blessed with freedom, which is in Yahushua HaMashiach. Once again, freedom from sin and death which only Aluahim can grant.

I’ve heard many people say that the Law is slavery (which this is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit), but Aluahim’s Word clearly tells us the opposite. That sin is slavery, and the Law is liberty or freedom. The Law (Torah) is meant to keep us from experiencing added pain, stress, and grief while living in the earth. And the Law also leads to eternal freedom – everlasting life. Those under the bondage of sin are deceived into thinking they are free, all while entangling themselves in the troubles of this world, and distancing themselves from our Creator. This is the very same trickery that Satan used to deceive a third of the angels into transgressing Aluahim’s commandments, which eventually got them thrown out of heaven and cut off from Aluahim.

If we want to become closer to Aluahim, then we have to get to know His Son. To know Aluahim’s Son Yahushua means to keep His Torah (Law) and Testimony (Prophets) which is considered to be showing faith in the Truth. Ultimately, this will lead to the knowledge of obtaining salvation and eternal life in Aluahim’s Kingdom. When speaking to the young devout follower of Mashiach, Paul writes,

2 Timothy 3:15: From childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures [the Torah and the Prophets], which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith [shown by the act of keeping the Law] which is in Yahushua HaMashiach.

Can you see? The Tanakh (Law and Prophets) can give us the wisdom of Salvation through faith, eternal salvation that is found only in Yahushua – YAHUAH’S Salvation. The Law and the Prophets will lead us to better understanding how to show our faith (action) in the One that can grant us eternal life.

The wise king Solomon reminds us,

Proverbs 7:2: Keep My commandments, and live; and My Law (Torah) as the apple of thine eye.

And,

Ecclesiastes 12:13: Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear YAHUAH, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
